I wonder if I can change my country from Antarctica to "The Foolish Fields".

Use the "Inspect" (or "Inspect Element") feature from your web browser. If you can't for some reason, you can also ask an admin like me to do it for you.

I tried doing it but it didn't work, idk what I was doing wrong. It just didn't save, just like the current scratch website.

It should work on here. However, do note that it does not work on upstream APIClone, in case you're self-hosting it or something.

This is me trying to add a custom location. In full honesty, the only "source" i could find on how to do this was the AI overview on google. So I may be doing it really wrong

Well here's how to actually do it: Go into account settings, go into inspect, change one of the locations to your desired location, and choose that option and click "Save my Changes". Note that you have to change the option value, meaning if it shows "<option value=Afghanistan> [your custom location] </option>", you will change your location to "Afghanistan", not [your custom location].

See how it was set to "Afghanistan" after the first refresh? That means you did it correctly. By setting it to United States after that, you effectively undo what you just did.
